Realeboha runs the Mimosa Mall 10km, years after life-changing surgeries, to raise awareness and inspire other children through the Smile Foundation.
Bloemfontein, South Africa (25 February 2026) – From the operating table to the 10km starting line, Realeboha is running a race that tells a story far bigger than fitness or medals. Born with Moebius Syndrome, which affects facial movement, and syndactyly, he’s faced challenges at a young age.
But thanks to life-changing reconstructive surgery facilitated by Smile Foundation in 2012 and supported by various partners, he gained confidence and a chance to dream.

Years later, that journey has brought him to the Mimosa Mall Marathon 10km, where he’ll run not as a professional athlete but as someone showing other children that early obstacles don’t define the finish line.
“Smile Foundation didn’t just help me physically. They gave me a chance. Running this race is my way of showing other children that where you start doesn’t have to be where you finish.”
Realeboha’s preparation has been supported by a network of partners, ensuring he was provided with running shoes, accommodation, and breakfast, and that he was supplied with the nutrition he needs for training and race day. These contributions give him the tools, but it’s his determination that powers him forward.
Taking place on 28 February 2026, the Mimosa Mall Marathon has grown into more than just a local race. Now an official Comrades Marathon qualifier, the event offers something for everyone
Every step he takes also shines a light on Smile Foundation’s work, which continues to provide reconstructive surgery and psychosocial support to children across South Africa. More than 5,000 young people have been helped to build not just function, but self-belief and hope.
On 28 February, Realeboha’s run will be a reminder of strength and resilience.
