The Royal family is fast becoming the next modern family as they celebrate love above all the old ways and boy does love win this time!
Walked down the aisle by his ex-wife, Lord Ivar Mountbatten became the first member of the British royal family to have a same-sex wedding, marrying his partner, James Coyle, on 22 September 2018.
Lord Ivar Mountbatten is a direct descendant of Queen Victoria and if you have watched the Netflix show, The Crown, you will know the surname well. Lord Ivar is the great-nephew of the late Earl Louis Mountbatten, Prince Philip’s uncle.
The Royal family have yet another win for love, firstly there was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tying the knot despite her being a foreign citizen and famous actress and now the first-ever same-sex marriage within the family.
It warms our hearts knowing the most popular family in the world can still teach lessons of love, acceptance and understanding. Once again they are a shining example.
The best part about this happy Modern Family is that Lord Ivar’s ex-wife Penny was there to embrace the new addition to their family.
Lord Ivar shared a collection of images from the day along with the caption,
“Well, we did it finally! It was an amazing day despite the miserable British weather.”
“Most importantly a massive thanks to my 3 gorgeous girls for being so understanding and supportive, without their support this could never have happened! And finally, the biggest thank you to James for being just perfect…”
We love sharing stories about how love wins and concours all!
