Camps Bay, South Africa (09 November 2020) – Camps Bay High School’s Interact team has been involved with the Santa’s Shoebox project for a number of years.

Each year, the Santa Shoebox Project collects and distributes personalised gifts of essential items and treats for underprivileged children throughout South Africa and Namibia. In the 14 years of the project’s existence, 957 297 children have received Santa’s Shoeboxes.

This year, Camps Bay High School staff, pupils and parents contributed around 120 boxes to the Santa Shoebox Project.

“Service and community outreach is a very important part of life at Camps Bay High School. We encourage all our learners to become part of at least one of our service clubs at the school which include Interact, the Environmental Club, the Catering Society, the Audio Visual Club and the PR Team. We find that involving learners in helping our community and giving back plays an incredibly important role in helping our learners to grow and develop into active and involved citizens.” – Kirsten Mobsby, Head of Service at Camps Bay High School,

“We always try to lead by example and it is wonderful that so many of the Camps Bay High School teachers and other staff contributed to this year’s Santa Shoebox Project. Camps Bay High School staff added 30 boxes to this year’s total.”

Santa Shoebox Project has received 85% so far. If you would like to join in, you can do so here. You can make up your own DIY shoeboxes or you can donate a virtual box that will be made by the project.
