Let her cook! There’s a new chef in the SOS Africa Gordon’s Bay kitchen and she’s serving up for more than just lunch – she’s inspiring healthy habits in budding young learners!
Gordon’s Bay, South Africa (21 February 2025) – Eating healthy is good for the mind, body and soul. We all know it. But, boy can maintaining discipline be difficult!
Fostering healthy eating habits in young learners is wonderful Jesca, the newly appointed Chef at SOS Africa Children’s Charity Gordon’s Bay centre!
SOS Africa’s sponsored children attend this learning centre after school where they receive homework support, mentoring, tutoring, and counselling and participate in a broad range of extra-curricular activities, and of course, a nutritious lunch meal prepared by Jesca.
This culinary queen’s excitement as she tends to the pots in the kitchen is evident in her bright and inviting smile while preparing hearty and nourishing meals with love!
Providing healthy and nutritious meals for the SOS kids every lunchtime is a top priority for the organisation and Jesca has very quickly and easily proven herself not just a great fit but also an invaluable member of the team.
While convincing children to “eat their veggies”, can prove a dreadful challenge, Jesca’s yummy recipes have amazingly turned picky eaters into second-help seekers in her kitchen.
“After just a month, Jesca and Claudia have already converted many of our children towards eating healthy and delicious foods. After scepticism at first, there is now always a queue for seconds.
“Welcome Jesca and thank you for your broad smile, and constant positivity and for already making such a difference to the health and wellbeing of the SOS kids,” SOS Africa thanked.
