Ewan Taylor is a talented young South African Professional Karter, who has taken a short brake from racing around the world, to complete his Matric.

Taylor started karting at the tender age of 14, between then and now Ewan has raced in world championships in Italy, competed in Las Vegas, where he was the very first South African/African to ever take part in the SuperKarts Nationals and in France at the Le Mans circuit.

Ewan now races for the X-30 Shifter team Energy Corse i South Africa.

Recently Ewan had been spotted by a Porsche Supercup team. Porsche Supercup are the opening act to Formula 1 in Europe… the Porsches go on before the Formula 1 race on the same track and same weekend.

Ewan has spent the last month of August with the team learning the ropes of professional motorsport and helping out in the pits, over the past weekend the team put Ewan in a Porsche Sportscup race at the Spa Francorchamps race circuit in Belgium.

With only half a day of practice in the Porsche Cayman GT4 race car, Ewan qualified 6th out of 20 in his class 2f.

In his first heat he finished 4th which was a surprise to everyone considering his experience in a race car, Ewan then managed to shock everyone and finished the weekend with a 3rd place in his last heat.

Taylor grabbed a podium finish and left the track with a trophy no one expected him to get.

Taylor has been offered a seat in the Porsche Supercup team where he will race for them all over the world under the South African flag.

Taylor arrives back tomorrow to finish his matric and then embark on the journey he has been dreaming of. If you want to follow this incredible sportsman, visit his Facebook page.
