Stickers

Katrina Bianca Sutcliffe is collecting unused Pick n Pay R5 stickers and incomplete books to buy food hampers for those in need this Christmas.

Pauline Mendes shared Katrina’s cause with us in the hope to spread it wider and get more people involved. A couple of months ago, Pick n Pay launched a campaign for shoppers to collect stickers with the value of R5.00. They were given a booklet and had to collect the value of R100 before the cutoff date in November.

The booklets could then be used until the end of December to get R100 off any shop. As the cutoff date was in November, many people either didn’t get a chance to fill their booklets or got given extra tickets they couldn’t use.

Katrina came up with the idea to collect the half-filled booklets or leftover tickets and use them to buy the prepacked food parcels for the needy.

“Katrina Bianca Sutcliffe is collecting unused Pick n Pay R5 stickers and incomplete books to buy food hampers for those in need. It’s a great initiative and she has donated so many hampers already but could do with some extra support. If anyone has any to spare, please drop them off at: Dear Maria opposite Andiccio in Bedfordview or Corporate Conference Centre Edward drive”

Katrina posted on her local Facebook Group, ‘Basically Bedfordview’ asking people to help her by donating their incomplete booklets and stickers. She has already managed to make quite a number of donations. In November she had collected 6.5 booklets worth of stickers and donated 3 buckets but then things got busy and she managed to collect 50 hampers using the stickers.

Shortly after the Alex fire, Katrina decided to donate 33 of the 50 buckets to the fire victims.

“Hi Everyone! I haven’t disappeared The response has been overwhelming and so far I’ve managed to get over FIFTY hamper buckets and counting.

Things have been quite hectic but in light of the Alex Shack Fire that happened last night, I decided to pay Gift of the Givers a visit this afternoon and drop off 33 buckets on behalf of all of us!

There are hundreds of people who are currently displaced and GOTG are doing all they can to assist the community of Alex. They literally need anything and everything they can get

You can expect daily posts in the next week about the individual recipients of the hampers once again.

Thank you to everybody who has contributed stickers, sheets and money to help change the lives of those less fortunate than us

Please remember to drop your sheets and stickers off at:

Dear Maria opposite Andiccio AND Corporate Conference Center in Edward Drive”

You have until the 30th of December to hand in your booklets, if you would like to donate yours to a worthy cause, you can do so at the above-mentioned places.
