After three months of unemployment, early childhood development practitioner Sade Africa found a new calling. Always believing in the power of beauty, she enrolled in the Amy Foundation’s Beauty and Wellness course, eager to learn skills not just for herself but to uplift women and girls in her community.
Cape Town, South Africa (11 February 2025) – After working with children for most of her career as a qualified Early Childhood Development practitioner and facing three months of unemployment, Sade Africa couldn’t shake the feeling that it was time for a change, a new lifestyle and new dreams.
Sade joined the Amy Foundation in October 2024 by enrolling in the Beauty and Wellness Course with the desire to understand the field, not just for personal growth but to help uplift other women and girls in her community.
“I’ve always believed in the power of beauty to make a difference, and I wanted to explore how I could use this knowledge to inspire others,” Sade shares.
It wasn’t long before she received the life-changing call following her application to the Amy Foundation. She used the opportunity to be a sponge, open to learning and focused on her new journey.

“I was eager to dive into beauty and wellness. In just a short time, I’ve learned so much from workplace etiquette and integrity to the technical skills in beauty.”
Sade has also learned how to empower others and, most importantly, how to build confidence in her clients, with beauty products as her handy superpowers.
“I had insecurities before but now, I’m amazed at how far I’ve come. It’s been a journey of growth, and I’m still in learning mode, excited to absorb everything the industry has to offer so I can share it with the world,” she says.
For many people, looking good significantly contributes to feeling good, and the knowledge that Sade has gained has deepened her passion for using beauty as a means to impact communities, challenge stereotypes, and encourage people to embrace who they truly are.
Now, armed with new skills and a renewed sense of purpose, Sade recently landed a job at a boutique hotel in Green Point, ready to embark on her career in the industry as well as make a real difference in the lives of others.
“My three months at the Amy Foundation have taught me perseverance, integrity and the importance of kindness. Most importantly, I’ve been reminded of my faith and how I can’t do anything without God,” she explains.
Sade has been empowered to take ownership of her life and is helping more women unlock their inner and outer beauty along the way!
