The friendliest child named Sacha, made a gloomy day in Cape Town brighter, after he took to wave at and greet everyone passing by!
Cape Town, South Africa (19 November 2024) — On a gloomy day in Cape Town, the friendliest child made everyone’s day that much brighter!
At Yindees, a local Thai restaurant in the city, little Sacha stood eagerly at a series of large open windows. His mission? To greet everyone walking or driving by with the kind of energy reserved for one’s best friends.
As such, everyone essentially became Sacha’s best friend that day as he beamed with delight, waving and smiling at them to their great surprise (it’s hardly every day that any stranger greets you in a big city, let alone with such enthusiasm!).
From taxis to the elderly, the friendliest child quickly turned what would’ve been a hum drum afternoon into an memorable one.
Unknowingly, Sacha showed a lot of kindness to the world that day.
His actions remind us of something many have forgotten—the power of greeting.
Despite it becoming less and less common, the power of greeting those around us is a profound thing. In places like the small town of McGregor, there are locals like Papa Johnny who take greeting very seriously; ensuring everyone gets a warm hello.
On his bike, Papa Johnny treks to all corners of his town, bringing joy, love and connection to all just as his parents taught him decades ago.
In a world that’s increasingly becoming disconnected and individualistic, it might serve us well to take notes from the likes of Johnny and Sacha. It costs us nothing and yet, can mean everything to someone who really needs a friendly smile today.
