Jade Futter received a shocking cancer diagnosis recently and her community has shown its true colours; colours of love, strength and total support!

Table View, South Africa (17 June 2021) – A mother’s plea to help her daughter fight cancer is rippling through the community of Table View in Cape Town. Karla Futter, mother to Jade Futter has asked for prayers and well wishes as her daughter embarks on her battle to wipe out her cancer.

Jade was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 2b at the age of 32. Her medical team have discussed her treatment plan and Jade will be starting her chemotherapy any day now, which will last for the next six months. Once her chemo is done, Jade will undergo a double mastectomy.

The news of her diagnosis was a massive shock to both Jade and her family but they have taken on the task of making sure Jade can fight with every ounce of her being. She is very family orientated and holds her friends close to her heart, seeing everyone returning her kindness has been a touching experience.

Jade is a karate powerhouse with years spent on the international and national stage, flying the South African flag high. Her ability to tackle her diagnosis will not only be boosted by her own strength, but also that of her community. Karla has rallied everyone in support of her upcoming fight. Aside from the support of friendship, community and prayer, Karla has created a crowdfund to assist Jade financially.

“We, as a family, obviously want to give as much financial and emotional support as we can to assist in making this journey as painless and as normal as possible for her. However, as my husband was recently retrenched, we are unlikely to be in a position to provide the financial support we would hope to.

This is going to be a long and quite expensive road; we will have to travel with her for supplements, wigs, doctors bills, hospital bills, treatments and implants. I am hoping I will achieve all this and more for this beautiful, brave, strong women that she is. I want her to look beautiful and stand strong during this time.

I look forward to standing alongside her as she rings “THE BELL” of Victory when she finally beats this disease. I want to again stand on the side and watch her compete on the karate Tatame with her brother in her coaches chair, as she has done in the past, I want her to walk down the aisle in a beautiful gown and have children that she can pour the abundance of love that is inside on.

My wants for her are endless but not impossible, as she is my precious ‘poppet’, and I will walk every step of the way with her. I have no idea what the cost implications are for this journey ahead, and I plan, with my family, to face and overcome every step of the process as best as we can.”

The journey is only just beginning and the road will be a long one but those who know Jade, know that she will get through each day with a smile on her face, sharing her infectious laughter with everyone she meets.

You can support Jade’s cancer journey by contributing to her crowdfund here.
