Free Pizza For A Year And Donates

A 19-year-old from Detroit won a year’s worth of free pizza and donated every last slice to the less fortunate.

Hannah Spooner and her boyfriend, Pete Kadry, were handed a $500 voucher for Little Caesar’s pizza company after they entered a random draw.

But instead of keeping the pizza money for themselves, they decided to donate all of it to Covenant House in Michigan, a facility for homeless youth.

Miss Spooner said she knew immediately after they won the voucher that she wanted to donate it to a good cause. She told Fox 2:

“I knew right away we were going to donate.”

“I just know there are people out there who have nothing. Why should I be eating a year’s worth of free pizza when there are people out there who go hungry at night?”

“Detroit is going through a lot of negativity,” Spooner told Inside Edition. “I wanted somewhere close to home that would be affected by my donation.”

She then connected with a few non-benefits in the territory. In the end, she settled on Covenant House Michigan, an office for destitute youth.

Carolyn Millard, development manager at Covenant House Michigan, where the couple donated the pizza money, told the program the young people welcomed the donation.

“They love pizza. They get very excited,” she told Inside Edition.

After the couple’s charitable gesture appeared on the news Miss Spooner wrote on Facebook: “This is unreal!! I’m so happy others get to hear our story and make a difference in their communities as well!

“It’s easy to get overwhelmed in our daily lives and to be consumed with the negativity in the world, I’m hoping that people take a step back and realise what is truly important in life!”
