People4Purpose NPO is calling for donations of school shoes, clothing and everyday essentials to help a bright young learner return to the classroom.

Johannesburg, South Africa (04 August 2026) – A young learner from Cosmo City is in need of support after being forced to stay away from school because he has been teased about the condition of his shoes.

People4Purpose shared how bright he is and performs in school. However, he has reportedly stopped attending school after becoming the target of comments from other learners. The young boy currently has only one pair of shoes, which he wears every day.

People4Purpose NPO is now calling on the community to help provide him with essential clothing and footwear, with the hope that the support will restore his confidence and help him return to the classroom feeling comfortable and included.

The organisation is looking for the following items:

  • School shoes: size 7
  • Casual shoes: size 7
  • Socks and underwear: suitable for ages 12 to 13
  • Boys’ clothing: size 12 to 13 years

Gently used, good-condition pre-loved clothing and footwear are welcome. People4Purpose NPO has also offered to purchase the items on behalf of the young learner using donated funds.

For many children, having suitable clothing and school shoes may seem like a small thing, but it can play an important role in helping them feel confident, included and ready to learn.

Those who would like to donate clothing or footwear can contact People4Purpose NPO for collection, delivery or drop-off arrangements.
