Alwande Sikhosana has done it; he has won the ITF Futures Singles title at the Aspendos Open; the event is one of a few between now and early December.

 

Turkey (18 November 2022) – It’s a win for Alwande Sikhosana at the Aspendos Open in Turkey this week. The talented athlete has won the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Futures Singles title and is now on his way to the ITF Futures TBESF Open at the Turgay Soysal Tennis Academy.

Alwande is currently ranked at 33 by the International Tennis Federation. In each match he plays, he gets to improve on his ranking. The next tournament starts today, the 18th of November 2022.

Alwande Sikhosana is a 22-year-old student from the University of Pretoria (Tuks) with a former ITF world ranking of No.2 during his competitive junior years. He started playing tennis at the age of 9 and has a preference for playing on hard tennis surfaces, although he has a high win rate on clay surfaces too.

With the ITF, he has a 73% win rate, having won 16 of his overall matches this year.

Alwande is currently touring Turkey alongside fellow athletes Mariska Venter and Ronewa Mudzanani. This is his second title win in the ITF Futures Series, having also won at the Hulya Avsar Open in 2021.
