This Midrand Montessori student and talented footballer earns an opportunity to represent South Africa in Spain.
Midrand, South Africa (21 September 2025) – Amukelani Mokgope, a proud product of Midrand Montessori, has grown up immersed in the school community since birth. He is the son of one of the school’s cherished staff members and has spent the past 16 years growing, learning, and thriving within the school. Over 16 years, he has not only excelled academically but has also excelled as a respected student leader, chosen by his peers for his dedication and integrity.
Soccer has been Amukelani’s passion since the age of three, and his skill and commitment have only grown with time. He is part of the SuperSport United Football Club’s Global Soccer Schools International program and currently plays for Kyalami United FC. The programme is a network of football schools and academies across South Africa that offer technical, skill-based training to young players, a development ethos focused on individual ball mastery, and incorporates both traditional football and a unique training method. It is this dedication and talent that has earned him an extraordinary opportunity. A chance to travel to Spain on 1 December to represent South Africa in an international soccer tour with Kyalami United FC.
The Midrand Montessori community is proud to have sponsored Amukelani’s education from the start, and now they are rallying behind him to make this dream trip a reality. The school aims to raise R60,000 to cover travel and participation costs, and every contribution counts.
