Badminton South Africa celebrates three big wins at the Benin International 2021 Tournament, the first win for SA since the pandemic started.
Benin, West Africa (23 August 2021) – The team representing Badminton South Africa at the Benin Internationals 2021 have won three out of five events. This is the first time since the start of the pandemic that South Africa has had the chance to compete internationally.
Badminton South Africa, the governing body of badminton in the country, shared the happy results on their Facebook page after the weekend event.
“The South African players won 3 out of the 5 events at the Benin International Future series. This is the South Africans first international in over a year due to Covid so this is a fantastic performance and a positive step forward for badminton in South Africa.

XD – Jarred Elliott/Deidre Jordaan beat Cameron Coetzer/Amy Ackerman 21-17, 22-20″
The teams and individuals have flown the South African flag high; you can watch the prizegiving here. They have started preparations for the All Africa Championships, which will be held in Uganda at the end of October 2021.
