A charity padel day for Hamba Bamba Funda was a smash hit, and thanks to everyone who played with purpose in mind, caregivers now have better chances to look after little lives:

Johannesburg, South Africa (08 December 2023)—Hamba Bamba Funda recently called on padel enthusiasts to play with purpose, and the response was nothing short of a smash hit.

The event, which was underway not too long ago, saw the non-profit organisation dedicate a day to community heroes and one of South Africa’s favourite new sports in a pursuit to lend a padel for childhood development.

The NPO, which dedicates its time to early childhood development from conception to 2 years, invited both pro and avid paddlers to face off for fun, all in the spirit of empowering caregivers in under-resourced areas like Soweto. Through the Mother and Baby Initiative, crucial support is provided to caregivers and their little ones in Dobsonville.

The Padel Charity Fun Day Event was instrumental in making the care-empowerment possible and was described to have surpassed all expectations.

“I have no words, only tears of joy!” said Monja Boonzaier, Founding Director of Hamba Bamba Funda.

Special thanks went to all who got involved, showed up and made the day one to remember, including the volunteers who helped to ensure the smooth running of the event.
