Siya Kolisi is South Africa’s golden guy and has been a great source of inspiration to millions of South Africans; now he has been named “Most Influential Person in Rugby”
Cape Town, South Africa (16 July 2020) – The last two years of Siya Kolisi’s career have been some of the very best! From becoming a world cup winning captain to being named the South African of the year in 2018 and receiving the highest honour from his old high school.
Now he has added an accolade to the shelf thanks to the Rugby World Magazine. Every two years Rugby World magazine lists the 50 most influential people in sports and Siya Kolisi is in top spot for 2020. He has been named the most influential person in Rugby for 2020.
Not only has Siya been a role model on the sports field, but he has also gone above and beyond during the lockdown. Siya and his wife Rachel have been involved in several projects to help people struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the Kolisi Foundation, they have visited hospitals (including the one Siya was born at) to deliver care packs to new moms. They have supported the 50 ground and kitchen staff at the Stormers stadium for the next three months.
Like many organisations in South Africa, the Kolisi Foundation is working on the “Each one Feed one” concept; where it takes just one person to feed someone.
We are so proud of Siya Kolisi as he continues to inspire South Africans and we are so happy he has been named the most influential person in Rugby. It is an accolade well-deserved!
