The cold front brought out the best, jackets given to SA's most vulnerable

South Africans work to keep the most vulnerable safe and warm through the final waves of cold fronts before spring sets in.

Johannesburg, South Africa (20 August 2020) – South Africa is getting the last few weeks of cold before the good weather sets in. While many are firing up the indoor heaters or adding wood to the fire, there are still people in South Africa that battle through the chills. Thankfully, charitable organisations work to combat this and provide aid to everyone who needs it!

We have seen some of the very best in people over the last five months, millions of South Africans stepped forward to support those in need by donating goods, food and funds to the charities on the frontlines of protecting the vulnerable.

Charities have been doing phenomenal work through the lockdown and all the corruption of funding designated to help the people of South Africa. Where there was no aid present, thousands of charities around South Africa made it happen and stood up where others failed!

This time, they focused on clothing the vulnerable with warm jackets and blanket to help them brave the waves of cold fronts currently hitting South Africa.

The Angel Network was one of many working to keep people warm. Aside from handing out jackets recently, they also handout warm packs to the homeless.

“Spring might soon “spring” but our cosy packs don’t only provide warmth. They are there to provide shelter and comfort from the wet grass or a hard park bench. There has been a demand for more but we have to make a minimum of 150. Are we able to do this? We have seen many tears of joy and appreciation, nothing can warm your heart like this can. This is just one of many ways to help. To be a part of this warming movement of Ubuntu, all you need to do is a little spring cleaning. You can then donate your well-loved clothing to your nearest charity and they will make sure it gets into the hands of the people who need it most!
