Entries for the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon open today, with Discovery Bank clients getting first dibs on one of South Africa’s most anticipated races.

South Africa (28 July 2026) – Thousands of runners will be refreshing their browsers at 10:00 today as entries for one of South Africa’s most in-demand road races officially open.

Known as the world’s most beautiful marathon, the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon has become far more than just another race on the calendar. Every year, runners from across South Africa and around the globe descend on Cape Town to take on the iconic route, while the event continues to give tourism and the local economy a welcome boost.

Demand for race numbers has long outweighed the number of available entries, making a place on the start line one of the most coveted in local road running.

This year, however, qualifying Discovery Bank clients will get a head start.

Following the announcement of Discovery as the new Health, Wellness and Banking Partner of the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon powered by BYD, eligible Discovery Bank clients will, for the first time in the event’s history, enjoy an exclusive 72-hour early-access entry window before entries open to the general public.

That means no waiting for the public ballot and a much better chance of securing a coveted race number before they’re snapped up.

The partnership also extends beyond race day.

Runners can look forward to a range of wellness and training benefits through the Discovery ecosystem, including rewards for completing the race, discounts on gym memberships, fitness gear, travel and accommodation.

For those hoping to stand on the start line in 2027, the countdown is now on. Entries open at 10:00 today, and with demand expected to once again exceed the number of available spots, runners will want to have everything ready before the clock strikes ten.
