What do you get when you mix Italian rock, South African flavour and legendary funk guitar? Talk To Me!
Global (13 September 2025) – Every now and then, a song comes along that feels like it was meant to exist. Damiano David, the charismatic lead singer of Måneskin, has released his brand-new single Talk To Me… and he’s brought two extraordinary artists along for the ride: South Africa’s Grammy-winning powerhouse Tyla and the legendary Nile Rodgers.
The track, which dropped on Friday, the 12th of September, is included in the deluxe edition of David’s debut solo album, Funny Little Fears, now reimagined as Funny Little Dreams.
And fans are calling it “another perfect duo in music history.”
In a press release, David revealed that Talk To Me wasn’t planned. “I unexpectedly felt a new wave of inspiration as the Funny Little Fears World Tour was approaching, which led me to write Talk to Me,” he explained. “What made this spark even more exciting was knowing that the legendary Nile Rodgers thought the song worthy of adding his solo guitar. I always felt this song should be a duet, and since I’ve recently been listening a lot to Water, I was completely blown away and really wanted to have [Tyla] sing it with me.”
Rodgers echoed the excitement: “I really loved the vibe of it and I wanted my guitar to be the third voice.” Tyla, who continues to defy genre boundaries, said she didn’t hesitate when the opportunity came her way. “I instantly fell in love with how nostalgic it felt. I heard myself on it straight away.”
Fans have been quick to flood social media with praise for the unexpected collaboration.
“The definition of another perfect duo in music history…” one user wrote.
Another added, “Damn guys! What have you put in this song and music video? INCREDIBLE! BEYOND AMAZING! BRAVO! I LOVVVVVVVVVE IT! CAN’T GET ENOUGH!”
And, in true Tyla fashion, one comment summed up her unmatched versatility:,“Tyla can’t be boxed and it’s a literal statement. How is she able to do 7 genres and still not miss? Amapiano, Pop, R&B, Dancehall, Afrobeats, Popiano (Mix of Pop and Piano), Disco, & 3-Step?”
