Rehan Greeff is taking on the gruelling National Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for ForAfrika and empower African communities.

United Kingdom (02 July 2023) – Chartered accountant Rehan Greeff is embarking on an incredible journey from 23 to 30 June 2023. He aims to shatter the record for the United Kingdom’s National Three Peaks Challenge, covering the equivalent of two-and-a-half marathons per day for seven days.

This ambitious endeavour is all in the name of charity, as Greeff’s efforts raise funds to support the well-being of African communities through ForAfrika.

Rehan Greeff, the founder of Run Forest Run, has always pushed his limits since miraculously recovering from debilitating knee injuries in 2017. Each year, he takes on new challenges to make a positive impact. From 2017 to 2022, Greeff raised an impressive £95,000 (over R2.2 million) for ForAfrika, the foremost African-born humanitarian assistance organization operating on the continent.

The National Three Peaks Challenge marks the seventh physical challenge Greeff has set for himself. His goal is to break the fastest known time for completing this demanding feat. The challenge entails conquering Scotland’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, England’s loftiest peak, Scafell Pike, and Wales’ majestic Snowdon, all on foot and within a remarkable eight days and 12 hours.

“At Run Forest Run, we believe in seizing everyday opportunities to have fun, stay fit, challenge ourselves, and bring about positive change in the lives of the less fortunate. Our chosen charity, ForAfrika, equips and empowers communities to thrive, and every pound we raise makes a tangible difference for good,” says Greeff.

In addition to his personal quest, Greeff is extending an invitation to others. Run Forest Run will host a community event called the #FURTHER Challenge on 8 July 2023, nestled in the picturesque village of Walton-on-the-Hill in Surrey. The #FURTHER Challenge offers a delightful day out for families, featuring walking and running events suitable for individuals of all abilities. Participants can choose from various distances, ranging from a 2km walk for small children accompanied by a parent, to a 5km fun run, 10km, 21.1km, 42.2km races, and even a 50km ultra-marathon.

“The focus of the day is not on speed but on perseverance, as you strive to push #FURTHER and raise funds for a worthy cause,” explains Greeff.

Run Forest Run aims to raise an admirable £50,000 (R1.1 million) for ForAfrika this year. The #FURTHER Challenge on 8 July is free to enter, and while over 100 runners have already signed up, there are still spots available. For those unable to attend or participate, donations to support the cause can be made at https://runforestrun.run/. Join Rehan Greeff and Run Forest Run in their mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of African communities.
