Whether you’re looking for a lifelong companion or just a reason to let your heart grow a few sizes, there’s no better place to find “the one” than at the TEARS Animal Rescue Open Day this Valentine’s Day.
Cape Town, South Africa (11 February 2026) – This Valentine’s Day may just be the day you find your new best friend! TEARS Animal Rescue will be hosting their Open Kennel Day this Saturday, 14 February, on Lekkerwater Road in Sunnydale (Kommetjie) from 10 am till 2 pm.
The kennels will be spruced up in the spirit of Valentine’s Day in celebration, and it’s a chance to see the kennels that have recently been rebuilt after the fire.
“We are inviting the public to visit our facilities and tour around the kennels to see all our beautiful dogs and gorgeous puppies looking for a loving forever home,” says TEARS Operations Manager, Mandy Store.
“We can’t think of a better way to say ‘I love you always’ to your human Valentine than with a little or large bundle of furry love that will adore you both forever.”

Run by a dedicated team who serve the communities of Masiphumelele, Ocean View, Vrygrond, and Red Hill, TEARS provides a sanctuary for vulnerable companion animals and relies on the support of caring individuals and corporates to assist them in fulfilling their mission to bring relief to animals in distress, whether through intervention, education, medical assistance or rehoming.
So, if you’ve forgotten to plan a Valentine’s Day date, visit TEARS and you’ll be surrounded by the best kind of love – puppies’ love, a gift of love that lasts a lifetime.
Tours of the kennels will start at 10 am, with the last tour heading out at 2 pm at 4 Lekkerwater Road, Sunnydale.
