Bhai’s Lounge set out to do something ‘crazy’ and broke a world record with a bunny chow!
Pretoria, South Africa (23 April 2026) – Delicious history was made on 17 April in Pretoria.
Bhai’s Lounge smashed the Guinness World Record title for the World’s Longest Bunny Chow. At 15.98 metres long, the record-breaking bunny was filled with 40kg lamb curry and 10kg sugar beans!
The record-attempt also made use of a custom-built, 17 metre long oven.
“We always think of crazy things to do. We came across the largest bunny chow on Google- 13.95 metres. How do we get a 16m long bread baked in an oven?” shared Kishore Ramharakh, who runs Bhai’s Lounge.
The record attempt was under the official supervision of Guinness World Records, represented by Ms Mbali Nkosi.
Strict guidelines had to be met! The bunny chow needed to surpass the minimum requirement of 15 metres and stand entirely on its own, at least long enough to be measured.
With the bunny stretching almost a metre longer than it had to be, Bhai’s Lounge took the title and made history!
The attempt was a team effort led by Kishore Ramharakh, alongside Chris Brits, Aradhana Authar, Kubashni Govender, Vernon Naidoo, Eugene Govender, and Vusi Leeuw. The event was documented by Fire Water Earth productions.
“This didn’t start as a record…it started as a belief. Built by a team that refused to stop. Strengthened by our children. Carried by the people around us. This was never just a bunny chow. This was unity. This was South Africa. And this… is what history feels like.” the production company shared.
Here you go, folks, the World’s Longest Bunny Chow!
