The Proteas Women captain anchors a dominant chase, with support from Sune Luus, to seal victory in the third T20I at the Wanderers.
Johannesburg, South Africa (23 April 2026)- There was little doubt about who was in control as Laura Wolvaardt took charge at the Wanderers Stadium, guiding South Africa to a convincing win over India.
The Proteas Women’s captain delivered a standout performance at the Wanderers Stadium, producing a commanding T20 International century to guide South Africa to a dominant nine-wicket win over India in the third match of the series.
From the outset, her innings combined precision and power, as she raced to a half-century in just 23 balls.
Boundaries flowed all around the ground, while her growing confidence saw her clear the ropes with authority, turning what could have been a routine chase into a statement performance.

At the other end, Sune Luus quietly played a crucial supporting role. Unbeaten on 64, she ensured the momentum never dipped, forming part of a powerful opening partnership that effectively decided the match early.
Together, the pair put on a remarkable stand, taking control of the chase and leaving little room for India to claw their way back. By the time Wolvaardt eventually fell with victory in sight, the outcome was all but sealed.
Tazmin Brits then calmly finished things off, nudging South Africa over the line to complete a clinical run chase.
The batting unit looked settled, composed and in sync. For Wolvaardt, it was a knock that underlined her influence not just as a batter, but as a leader. And again, setting the standard and carrying the team.
