A new reality series hosted by Jessica Dlamini celebrates six South African charities with surprise makeovers, proving that gratitude and community can transform lives.

South Africa (10 July 2026) – A new reality series is shining a spotlight on everyday heroes, not just by sharing their stories, but by giving them the tools to continue making a difference.

Make Life Good, produced by LG Electronics South Africa in partnership with MultiChoice, follows six inspiring African achievers as they surprise the organisations closest to their hearts with meaningful 24-hour makeovers. Hosted by Jessica Dlamini, the six-part series celebrates gratitude, generosity and the belief that when communities are supported, everyone benefits.

Each episode follows one well-known personality as they secretly plan a transformation for an organisation that has played an important role in uplifting others.

The series features trailblazing mountaineer Saray Khumalo, football legend William Okpara, entrepreneur and author Thandi Mavata, data and analytics executive Esther Munyi, Pan-African PR executive Perpetual Kendi and award-winning filmmaker Adze Ugah.

Together, they recognise organisations across South Africa that are creating brighter futures for children, young people and vulnerable communities. We see LIV Lanseria, the Moses Molelekwa Arts Foundation and the Botshabelo Babies Home being some of the local charities supported in the Make Life Good series.

Rather than focusing solely on renovations, the series explores the emotional impact of saying “thank you” to the people who dedicate their lives to helping others.

Plus the added bonus of new technology installations that make the running of these organisations better. These include the innovative 100-inch LG QNED evo AI TV, InstaView refrigerators, QuadWash dishwashers, and DualCool+ Air Conditioners.

“At its heart, Make Life Good is about restoring dignity in very real, very practical ways. Life’s Good is our slogan, but this series asked us to prove it in places where life isn’t always easy or fair. Our goal was to combine our corporate resources with the deep, grassroots insight of local changemakers, so we asked: What happens when you bring human compassion, local storytelling and technology together and give them 24 hours? You get change that people feel that same day. To me, that is Ubuntu – South Africans, and Africans, showing up for one another – and a reminder that technology only matters when it serves people. Personally, this was also about redefining what marketing and PR can be when they are led by heart and purpose rather than by a product. If viewers come away moved, and maybe even questioning their own role in their communities, then we’ve done our job.” – Pennileigh Naidu, Head of Corporate Marketing and PR at LG Electronics South Africa.

For the organisations featured, the upgrades represent more than new appliances or refreshed spaces. They create environments that can better support volunteers, improve daily operations and ultimately allow these community initiatives to reach even more people.

“It’s reality TV with purpose. We see it as a celebration of compassion and the unique Mzansi belief that when one rises, they should thrive to lift others as well,” says Mbali Ntuli, GE Head of Unscripted Content at MultiChoice, a Canal+ company. “We are honoured to be at the centre of a project that is a reminder that even a small act of kindness can transform an entire community.”
