Your next thrift could help put school books into the hands of a child who needs them. Cape Town’s most meaningful week in sustainable fashion returns!

Cape Town, South Africa (30 July 2026) – Who doesn’t love a good bargain, knowing every purchase is helping someone else too? That’s what has made Vintage with Love’s annual fundraiser such a favourite over the years, and this August it’s stepping up the game!

The team behind one of Cape Town’s best-loved sustainable fashion events is launching The Big Week – a week of fashion, community and fundraising that helps change lives.

Vintage with Love has operated within the realm of sustainable fashion for over 10 years, showing us that the clothes sitting in our cupboards actually do have a massive impact on multiple fronts.

By collecting pre-loved fashion and giving it a new home, the non-profit has raised millions of rands for literacy and education initiatives across South Africa, while helping keep thousands of garments out of landfill.

The Big Week will combine two events that each celebrate fashion in their own way, while sharing that goal of making a positive difference.

It will begin with The Big Show on 20 August, hosted at Beluga above the Cape Town Cruise Terminal. Created in partnership with Bridget Pickering of Ruff Tung/Therapy Boutique, the fashion show will shine a light on local designers, brands and creatives who are helping shape a more sustainable future for fashion in South Africa. It’s a runway event, but it’s also a chance to support local talent and raise even more funds for the literacy programmes.

Then, during the final weekend of August, it’s time for the event thousands of shoppers look forward to every year.

The Big Sale returns to the Cape Town Cruise Terminal with rails packed full of pre-loved clothing, accessories and fashion gems, all donated to help make a difference. Every purchase will give an item a second life and help fund education initiatives that create brighter tomorrows for children across the country.

Being involved is easy and loads of fun. Donate the clothes you no longer wear. Buy something pre-loved instead of new. Attend a fundraiser. Tell a friend.

Creating change starts by donating a shirt you no longer wear… and it ends with books in classrooms and opportunities for young people!

The Big Week 2026 happens in August, and tickets are available now!
