South African borders open soon which means people can start travelling again; we have updated the list of visa-free countries to visit in 2020.
Global (25 September 2020) – Borders open on the 1st of October which means South Africans will be allowed to travel again. We know many of you have been looking forward to a break so we are resharing the visa-free list for South Africans to travel to in 2020.
Please note, we are aware of all the possible complications related to international travel, including quarantine times, COVID testing and country exclusions, we want you to have a decent list so should you and your family be prepared to travel, this can aid that.
Before COVID-19, the list was 101 but has since dropped to 36 for the time being. You can navigate the website here, it will show you which countries are open and which currently have COVID-19 travel bans.
When consulting the Passport Index, we noted that while some countries are listed as visa-free, the others you can pay for the visa upon entry or exit of the country. Below is the compiled list of 36 countries that South Africans can visit without a visa, there are also 31 countries where you can get a visa on arrival which you can see here.
