South Africa (08 February 2023) – Parts of the Western Cape are being reverted back into beautiful fynbos corridors, thanks to the month of love! Greenpop is selling “You Make Me Bloom” fynbos certificates for Valentine’s Day this year.
The funds raised from selling the certificates will be going towards the organisation’s “Gardens for Good” project. The urban greening project contributes towards the vision of Cape Town in which urban green space is equally distributed and valued in all communities.
Through Gardens for Good, the organisation will work with schools, hospitals, and other community organisations to plant gardens, run engaging gardening days for schools and corporates, support teachers, and build the capacity of groundskeepers.
Greenpop was founded in 2010 with the goal of planting more trees in South Africa. Since then, the organisation has grown from strength to strength. They do not only plant trees now; various projects include food gardens and fynbos gardens.
Greenpop works all over the country to plant trees. Since 2010, Greenpop has planted over 130,000 trees around South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Now they are hoping to plant 500,000 by 2025.
