A video from a Bloemfontein dance school showcasing a Sokkie/Rumba routine is being shared globally on Mashable, Bored Panda and even Huffington Post.
The duo from Dancesation choreographed this plain and simple routine for an art show but rehearsals turned out to be a mesmerizing show by itself.
Sokkie dance is a style of social ballroom dance with a partner. It is also referred to in Afrikaans as “langarm”, “sakkie-sakkie”, “kotteljons” and “Water-pomp”.
The video was uploaded to Youtube and is being shared far and wide across the globe, placing it in the number 20 spot on the platform’s trending list!
Dancesation was officialy born on 31 March 2008, with Cat, 3 teachers and a basic of Latin American, Ballroom and Line Dancing.
Today, the studio has grown into one of the most well known social studios in Bloemfontein and is the only studio that specializes in a variety of dance genres & fitness combinations, in the city.
