The Animal Anti-Cruelty League can now safely transport vulnerable animals, thanks to the kindness and generosity of a supporter who dug deep to help them out.
Cape Town, South Africa (22 October 2025) – When the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) in Cape Town put out a plea to have their vehicles fitted with cages to safely transport animals during inspections, their requests didn’t fall on deaf ears.
A few months after sharing how important these cages were in carrying out their work and for Mass Animal Sterilisation Projects, a kind supporter, Jan-Willem van Bochove, became their answered prayer!
Thanks to his incredible generosity, he donated an outstanding R52,000, ensuring the AACL’s need was met in full!
“These cages are a vital part of what allows us to do our work effectively.
“Because of Jan’s kindness, and the wonderful team at Pet Creations, who built the cages for us, our inspectors are now equipped to respond faster, safer, and more efficiently, giving animals in need the care and protection they deserve,” AACL said.
For this dedicated team that goes above and beyond for animals in need, every cage represents more than just equipment; it represents a safe space for an injured dog, a frightened cat, or a neglected animal finally being brought to safety.
The animal welfare organisation also thanked its long-standing supporters who stepped in to provide cat carriers and puppy pads for its hospital.
“Thanks to this incredible support, we now have nine cages and six cat carriers, all made possible through Jan’s donation and the partnership of local businesses who truly care.
“From all of us at AACL and the countless animals who will be safer because of your generosity, thank you! Your support keeps our mission alive and helps us continue creating a more compassionate, protected world for animals across our communities.”
