South Africa has featured on a list as one of the top luxury travel destinations in the world for 2016 and the world couldn’t agree more.
Travel Leaders Group released its Fall Luxury Travel Trends findings, based on a survey of luxury travel agents under the Travel Leaders Group umbrella.
Out of 196 global countries, South Africa came in at number 11!
Among the top destinations for luxury travel in the next year, Italy leads the way, followed by European river cruises, the United States, Mediterranean cruises and Australia, respectively.
Travel Leaders Group pointed out that affluent holidaymakers expect fine dining, private concierge-level access, spas, butler service, and a personalised or private check-in and check-out.
“That’s important for industry partners to recognize,” said Gail Grimmett, President of Protravel International and Tzell Travel Group.
These luxury travel trends are based on responses from 785 Travel Leaders Group’s luxury travel agent experts across the U.S.
“The allure of Italy is stronger than ever,” said Ninan Chacko, CEO of North American company Travel Leaders Group, “particularly with affluent travelers who are seeking authentic, enriching experiences paired with a multitude of very high-end accommodations.”
