“You’re a TV show, Harry,” said the Hagrid in our minds when we learned that Harry Potter was making its television debut. No, this is not a drill. Here’s what we know so far!

Global (12 April, 2023) — It’s a good day to be a Harry Potter fan. Especially if you’ve re-read the books and re-watched the films more times than your friends and family can handle. Harry Potter is hitting screens once again, this time as a TV show.

Warner Bros. Discovery shared the news recently, stating:

“It will be a “faithful adaptation of the beloved original book series by J.K Rowling, who will serve as executive producer.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Heyman (the producer behind all the films) is to produce the series too, lending fans to think the show will maintain the films’ level of epic storytelling.

What Can Fans Expect?

The series is set to take a deeper dive into the wizarding world, with reports suspecting each season will focus on a single book out of the full seven. However, some muggles in the know shared that the project is set to run for 10 years, so suspicions are on for the series’ exact timeline.

“The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail, much loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years. Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.” —Max (formerly HBO Max).

As for release dates, sights are set on 2025.

Meanwhile, the OG Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe is also on a new adventure, after it was announced that he’s going to become a father! Of course, the fan reactions were priceless.
