This tiny dancer has one big attitude! Captured on video showing off his fancy footwork and feisty spirit, under his adoring mom’s watchful eye, a baby elephant has easily stolen Mzansi’s hearts.

South Africa (20 August 2025) – One adorable trunked fella has easily won over the hearts and giggles of South Africans after going viral in the cutest video!

In footage shared by the Wildfriends Africa Facebook page, a baby elephant is seen showing what we imagine to be his “macho moves” as his much larger mommy walks beside him.

He’s seen wandering about back and forth on a road and at some point appears to be shooing off a nearby bird, before doing a little cute dance of sorts.

“Heart-warming encounter of baby elephant testing his dancing moves and charging audacity in akin eyes of his protective mother,” the post was captioned.

Elephant calves usually remain close to their mothers for many years, often up to 16 years. During this extended childhood, they learn essential survival skills, social behaviours, and how to navigate their environment. However, this little calf appears eager to demonstrate that he is much stronger and more capable than his size and age might suggest.

Despite his much smaller size against his mom, this calf proved a giant when it came to his capacity to captivate and charm.

Social media users couldn’t help but giggle and joke about the playful ellie’s humorous behaviour, with some hinting he reminded them of themselves after a fun night out.

“The little one is saying, ‘I’m Tuff and I have big backup mommy.’ Lol lol,” shared a Boyde Bowam.

While another user, Helen Obaholzer, teased:

“The little one with the attitude is just a little bit bigger than that pesky bird flying around.”

His big personality and endearing display of bravado have made him an instant favourite, proving that you’re never too small to be a showstopper!
