Because this is what happens in South Africa after we go up a Stage in Loadshedding!
Johannesburg, South Africa (27 March 2019) – A new hilarious video – called Eskomplikated – is going viral, showing the world what it feels like the moment we are upgraded to a new (worse) stage of loadshedding… and it is the funniest thing you will see today!
Loadshedding has been around since 2007 and is caused by a severe energy crisis in the country. The South African government-owned national power utility and primary power generator, Eskom, and various parliamentarians attributed these rolling blackouts to insufficient generation capacity.
But “Innerview” wanted to do something to make South Africa laugh.
With eight years of experience in the visual creation industry, the company provides production services from concept to delivery. The team help clients stand out from the “noise” of advertising and even though Eskom is not a client, they decided to shed some light on the current state of electricity in South Africa.
The team got together and produced a video using almost every single house appliance they could find, and a horse’s head.
“It was a Saturday night, we had nothing to do, so a camera and a short window of power kept us busy for a moment.
Thanks to Allen Visuals for rolling cam. Featuring the lovely faces and bodies of Steven Carter, Gavin Willmers, Angel Mey, Emile Naidu, James Collins, Megan Du Toit, Fanjan Combrink Jean Du Toit. Ashley Reid.”
