Celebrating South African culture and rugby legacy as the Springbok warriors visit Paarl Boys Primary
Paarl, South Africa (12 September 2025) – What a surprise! From stadium fields to school halls. Impi Warriors, Alfonzo and Torra, came to hype up Paarl Boys Primary School ahead of the Springboks’ games in late August. Usually seen performing in full Zulu regalia on the stadium field, the warriors brought that same high-energy spirit directly to the school hall, giving the students a taste of the stadium experience. But this time, up close and personal.
Dressed in their warrior attire and carrying spears, they charged into the hall with powerful shouts and commanding presence, instantly captivating the kids. Students jumped and clapped along. Some were startled by their appearance, but everyone was just fully immersed in the spectacle. Teachers and staff, some capturing the moment on video, shared hugs with the warriors, adding a heartwarming touch to the excitement.
This might be Paarl Boys Primary, but these are the same boys who will one day move on to Paarl Boys High School, a school with a proud rugby legacy. Over the years, the high school has produced more than 20 Springboks, including names like Thomas de Toit, Evan Ross, and Ruan Venter. It was indeed a fitting visit. The Impi warriors, usually seen performing at the biggest Springbok matches, came to inspire the next generation right at their roots.
Seeing the warriors perform in such an intimate setting made the energy feel even more electric, and the Springbok spirit truly came alive for everyone in the hall.
As the Springboks gear up for another test against New Zealand, a look back at this special visit reminds everyone that the heart of the game extends far beyond the field and that the biggest cheers happen right in your own school halls.
