The upcoming Barbie movie has the world joining forces in pink excitement, and the new trailer and posters will make an avid Barbie fan’s day without exception.

Global (06 April 2023) —There are select things that can unlock childlike excitement like no other, sometimes unexplainably. New Lego collections. Any Disney Channel theme song. The memory of how much power a R5 at the tuck-shop once held. However, uniting the world in a universal childlike thrill is the upcoming Barbie movie, and we’re unashamedly tickled pink.

Director Greta Gerwig knew exactly what she was doing when she brought Barbie’s world to life. From the first teaser trailer alone, we knew were in for something iconic. Now, we have another trailer to up the ante of expectations, and it’s a pure slice of cinematic eye candy.

We briefly step into Barbie Land where Margot Robbie’s Barbie encounters other Barbies (stay tuned for the applause-worthy cast list) and navigates what seems to be a relationship with Ryan Gosling’s fearlessly spray-tanned Ken.

It’s already paved with humour, stunning costume and set designs and of course, very pink.

Although the plot is still shrouded in a little mystery, it’s been hinted that life in plastic isn’t so fantastic, and Barbie is going on some sort of adventure to ‘the real world’.

As for the film posters and full cast reveal, fans were even more enthralled.

Most of the Barbies’ have a badass career in ode to the many hats the Mattel doll has worn over the decades, from Nobel Prize Winners to mermaids. As for the Kens, they all share one exciting career of being, well. Kens.

The cast list ranges from Dua Lipa and America Ferrera to Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa, Michael Cera, Simu Liu and Helen Mirren (who will narrate the film).

Children, inner-children, selfless parents and loving partners of Barbie fans can all look forward to (or at least prepare for)the film’s release on 21 July.
