Bryce Dudal is an 18-year-old pizza delivery guy from Detroit, USA who spotted an un-used piano during one of his deliveries so he asked if he could play it
By day Bryce Dudal is a pizza delivery driver but he has a secret hidden talent that wowed the family he dropped a pepperoni pizza off at. During his delivery, he noticed a beautiful grand piano sitting in the corner of their entrance way.
He took a chance and asked if he could play it. The Varchetti family were surprised by his request and allowed him to take a seat at their piano.
Bryce then proceeded to play Beethoven’s third movement of “Moonlight Sonata”. The family all froze around the piano as they realised that Bryce was incredibly talented. Julie Varchetti started filming his performance and shared it online. Bryce was so talented that Julie’s son even paused his video game to join the family around the piano.
The most beautiful part of the entire story is that Bryce is a self-taught pianist who started playing when he was 6-years-old. He became really good at playing by ear and within a year, was able to play a number of TV jingles before he set his sights on the bigger pieces such as “Moonlight Sonata”.
“It was a long process. You have to sit there and think and try to put it on the piano, piece by piece. I couldn’t read music back then,” he told The Washington Post. “I would sit there and listen for hours and hours and try to figure it out.”
As Bryce got older, he put his piano skills aside and focused on sport but thanks to this spontaneous performance, he has reignited his passion and plans to get back to daily practice and lessons.
