Reacting to everything from chicken recipes to unusual cooking hacks, he has South Africans in stitches one video at a time.

South Africa (24 September 2025) – If you are a food content creator, watch out, because Xolile Vesile might just react to your video!

Xolile Vesile has quickly become one of South Africa’s most entertaining content creators, not by cooking himself, but by reacting to other people’s cooking videos. His commentary has viewers in stitches as he breaks down every step by adding his own hilarious observations along the way.

In one video, a woman was making what Americans call “grits” (or porridge, as we know it in South Africa) but added shrimp. Xolile was completely baffled by this combination, and this disbelief had viewers laughing. In another clip, a man cooked a steak in what Xolile jokingly called a “suffocator,” leaving him completely blown away. And then there is everyone’s favourite, “Julliiiaaa, what are you cooking today Juliaaaa?!”

You just never know with him. He jokes in one reaction, capturing the playful energy that keeps his followers coming back. Then, they might roast you a little bit in the next, because why are you putting what looks like shrimp in a pot of porridge? Fans have flooded the comments with laughter, saying they actually enjoy his reactions even more than the cooking videos themselves.

Watching his videos is a reminder that cooking is about creativity. Whether it’s a “suffocated” steak or shrimp in oats, Xolile’s commentary has South Africans laughing all the way through.
