Liverpool’s media team celebrates South African supporters with a Cape Town-inspired illustration featuring players in a quantum heading to Anfield, sparking amusement and excitement across social media

South Africa (21 October 2025) – Liverpool players spotted navigating the streets of Cape Town… in a quantum! Liverpool FC caught the eye of their South African supporters on Sunday with a playful matchday graphic, continuing the club’s recent trend of Mzansi-inspired content on TikTok.

The post showed star players: Virgil van Dijk, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch, and Dominik Szoboszlai, all crammed into a Toyota Quantum minibus taxi. A familiar sight on South African streets, heading toward a sign pointing to Anfield (Liverpool’s home ground). The backdrop featured the iconic Table Mountain, while the taxi’s custom “YNWA – WP” number plate added a distinctly Cape Town flair.

The South African-themed post quickly sparked reactions across social media. You will also find the Mayor of Cape Town, Geordin Hill-Lewis’s comment under the post: “ LETS GO CAPE TOWN”

Fans were quick to join in the fun:

Mitch Matyana- “Come Home”

Mitch believes the admin might be South African and therefore needs to “come home.”

Alex Michelsen- “They Found Us”

Joked that the club had officially “found us.” He expressed concern that taxi fares might now skyrocket.
