As with every tough period in South Africa, people are creating light by giving us all a chance to laugh through the bad things.
South Africa (05 July 2022) – Times are getting quite tough, but still not tough enough to hamper the brilliant sense of humour of South Africans. Whenever there are hard times, you can guarantee South Africans will find a way to laugh through them.
Now we are not saying any of the financial predicaments South Africans are facing, are a laughing matter because they 100% need serious attention from not only our local leaders but from global leaders too!
But while we wait for the leaders to come up with solutions to the global financial crisis, we have to laugh so we can avoid crying.
Some South Africans have taken to Twitter to share the savvy ways they plan to save money and a few of them have us in awe as they are brilliant!
Twitter user Gustavo started the thread and many have joined in.
Leave huns alone, pour enough petrol to get to your destination and back, eat only when you feel dizzy, don’t buy milk or eggs, 3 bananas constitute a meal, pretend to be a homebody, pretend to buy a car at a dealership if u want coffee.

Gustavo even has a bonus tip for the geyser. He says just leave it off and go shower at the gym. While there, charge your devices so you save that power too, even your electric scooter!
Twitter user Christie’s World gave one that made us laugh tea through our noses. She says to use the work fridge and keep yours switched off but be sure to label your things “baby milk” to avoid any unwanted usage of your things.
Another user says ditch the microwave and just eat things cold. Cold pizza is better anyway.
