“There was a stage I was wondering what was going to come sooner… the end of Loadshedding or our JanuWorry pay-check? Like I said, when you’re in January, it puts you in a dark place. Excuse the pun.”

Johannesburg South Africa (29 January 2023) – Kuhle “Kookie” Sonkosi is going viral again for a hilarious sports interview parody discussing “JanuWorry’s PayDay”.

The video is brilliant and, in typical South African style, helps us laugh through difficult times.

Kuhle Sonkosi is 29 years old and started making videos four years ago. He goes by Kookie Khule on social media and his content really started picking up in 2022. The format is generally the same, a sports “post-match” interview on various topics from Loadshedding to washing dishes.

This time he is discussing JanuWorry and PayDay.

“Ja, ecstatic. Very happy for payday to have finally arrived. There was a stage I was wondering what was going to come sooner… the end of Loadshedding or our January pay-check? Like I said, when you’re in January, it puts you in a dark place. Excuse the pun. But happy for the money to come in. Happy to hear that sms in the morning from the bank letting you know you got paid.”
