Award-winning restaurant wows foreign guests by joining in a stellar performance of South Africa’s well-loved Asimbonanga by Johnny Clegg.
Pretoria, South Africa – Music crosses so many barriers, it unites people and brings joy even when we cannot understand the words being sung. Recently, at La Madeleine, a restaurant in Pretoria, a choir group from Toulouse, France joined the staff in singing a proudly South African song.
While there was a communication barrier, they joined each other in celebrating life through song. Service had ended for the day and the staff embraced their foreign patrons in the most South African way possible.
La Madeleine has received the American Express Dining Award for 2018 / 2019 for the 15th consecutive year. They are the only restaurant in Pretoria to have been awarded 3 Stars by American Express. They have been open for nearly three decades and continue to wow with their culinary delights.
