In a world where poverty can often feel overwhelming, Ladles of Love is shining a light on hope. This incredible charity is feeding the future of South Africa by providing nutritious meals to thousands of young children in Early Childhood Development Centers across Cape Town.

Cape Town, South Africa (18 December 2024) – As South Africans, we hear about poverty a lot, so much so that it can be easy to become desensitised to it. But the truth is, it’s tough out there for many people in a multifaceted country.

For some, the burdensome day-to-day looks like waking up to hustle for small change just to get by; for many, it’s relying on the school feeding scheme for a filling meal and for others, it’s knocking on doors to get a piece job to feed the family. I could go on and on.

The fact is – the struggle is real, and sometimes simple solutions can go a long way in helping those in need not only get by but also ignite hope for a better tomorrow.

At Ladles of Love, feeding the future is a vital part of laying the foundations for this better tomorrow. By providing nutrition to small children in need and supporting their growth and preschool education, the charity is transforming little lives.

Every week, Ladles of Love delivers nutritious supplies to ECDs across Cape Town, ensuring children have the healthy meals they need to grow and thrive.

At Little Conquerors, a tiny preschool run by the inspiring Andiswa Ncamiso in Joe Slovo Park, 40 little ones are nurtured and nourished daily in a modest corrugated iron structure. Despite immense challenges, Andiswa’s love and determination have turned her former soup kitchen into a haven of hope for vulnerable children.

Lindiwe at Kids Ministry shed light on the relief of having support in ensuring the children she cares for have the nutrition they need for their growth and development.

Through Ladles of Loves’ Feed the Future campaign, a dedicated team of volunteers is making sure these kids get the nutrition they need to grow, learn, and thrive – because every dream deserves a chance to come true.

“We support just over 6,000 children in our Early Childhood Development Centres aged 0 to 6 years old and we’d like to invite you to partner with us and support these children. At just R250 a month, we can support them with two nutritious meals a day,” appeals the organisation’s Programme Director, Yolanda Jones.
