A Baking battle is just around the corner and no apron is safe. The Great South African Bake Off is almost ready to be served and for two South African women, the sweet spotlight is a dream come true.

 

South Africa (20 July, 2023) — Is baking an extreme sport? For some South African dreamers ready to whip up all the stops for the whole country to see, the answer is yes. The Great South African Bake Off is almost ready to be served, and this year’s kitchen is brimming with iconic surprises.

Coconut Kelz (Lesego Tlhabi) is set to play host for the fourth season of the bake off to beat, and for the creator whose worn many hats while keeping South Africa laughing throughout her satire reign, it’s a dream come true.

Taking to social media, Kelz shared that she will ‘never get over it’ and that she’s still ‘floating’ with gratitude.

Kelz began her career in laughter a few years ago after battling years of unemployment. After various viral stints, controversy from those who didn’t know her alter ego was just a character (that she won a Content Creator Award for) as well as many Klez moments that kept South Africa laughing through the tougher times, the comedy queen’s opportunity to host is a sweet dream come true.

Another iconic women set to join the show as a judge is Siba Mtongana. Her position as judge is yet another cherry on the chef’s cake of accomplishments, following her restaurant’s recognition as one of the best in the world.
