After an urgent call for knitted and crocheted blankets, supporters are helping ensure vulnerable infants start life warm, safe, and cared for.

Cape Town, South Africa (09 February 2026) – Non-profit organisation, Bless a Baby has been on a mission ensure every newborn has a warmer start in life and the community it answering the call. Just days after putting out an urgent appeal for knitted and crocheted blankets, the response has been overwhelming.

Bless a Baby, dedicated to supporting vulnerable infants and their families, distributes Bless a Baby bags filled with essentials, including clothing, blankets, and care items. These packs aim to wrap babies in warmth, comfort, and dignity, particularly during their earliest days.

“Our supply of blankets was running critically low, but the need keeps growing,” the team shared on Facebook. “Thank you for making a difference, one baby at a time.”

Since the appeal went out, supporters have been coming through in force. Nutty Knitters delivered 54 blankets, alongside two large bags of baby clothes and toys. Community members such as Kim, Pauline, Elsia, and Marina have also contributed.

Each donation is a tangible act of care.

“We’re so grateful for the generosity shown by these incredible supporters.”

With blankets flowing in and hearts full, Bless a Baby is hopeful for the months ahead. The organisation continues to welcome donations.
