South African entrepreneur Busie Matsiko is releasing a new book, ‘Create the Life of Your Dreams’ after helping thousands realise their dreams.
South Africa (31 March 2025) – South African global strategist and entrepreneur Busie Matsiko is set to launch her new book, Create the Life of Your Dreams this week. The book offers practical tools for turning ambition into reality through vision boarding, goal-setting, and manifestation – as part of International Women’s Month.
Soweto-born Matsiko has had a successful career spanning Wall Street, global commerce, and leadership. She shared how her father’s advice to “write things down so you don’t forget them” became the inspiration for her book.
From Vision to Reality
“The inspiration behind this book is basically planning and dreaming—writing your vision and acting on it,” Matsiko explained. “I found myself doing this over the years and realised that a lot of us make resolutions but don’t achieve them. I began writing down five key goals and turning them into vision boards. That’s when things changed.”
What started as a personal practice soon became a movement. Matsiko’s vision board events went viral, garnering 10,000 views during the Covid-19 pandemic. As her workshops gained popularity, she realised that the books available on the subject were primarily craft-focused rather than self-help or business-oriented.
Turning Passion into Purpose
Matsiko credits much of her journey to the transformative power of vision boarding.
“I started partnering with institutions like Berkeley College, JPMorgan Chase, and the YWCA,” she noted. “There were tangible results. People increased their salaries, started businesses, and even lost weight. It became clear that this wasn’t just a hobby—it was a life-changing practice.”
This realisation pushed Matsiko to take her message beyond workshops. With encouragement from her coach, she pivoted from simply teaching vision boarding, to creating a structured business – and ultimately, writing the book.
“From this book, people will learn why clarity is essential for success, how to manifest their goals, and how to break dreams into actionable steps,” she said.
Bridging the Gap Through Education
Matsiko’s commitment to empowering others extends far beyond vision boards. She is currently pursuing her MBA in general business at Berkeley College, fulfilling a lifelong dream and honouring her father’s legacy.
“My dad always wanted me to have a master’s degree. This one is for him,” she shared.
Her book delves into key themes, such as the importance of mindset, preparation, and accountability. Matsiko emphasises that vision boarding is not just about dreaming—it’s about execution.
“I review my vision board regularly—after a month, three months, six months. If something isn’t working, I pivot. It’s about staying on track.”
Empowering a Global Audience
With a life journey that spans continents—born in Soweto, raised in Uganda and Zambia, and now a resident of New York for the past 24 years – Matsiko’s global perspective adds depth to her message.
“I’m passionate about bridging communities, amplifying excellence, and encouraging financial independence,” she explained.
As president of the New York African Chamber of Commerce and the founder of Africa Sisters NYC, Matsiko continues to champion entrepreneurship and leadership, organising events that celebrate African excellence, including the upcoming Reputation Pool honouring the 100 most reputable Africans on 15 May in South Africa.
A Vision for the Future
Matsiko’s optimism shines through despite global uncertainties.
“We are resilient. People have always dreamed and overcome,” she said. “I believe things will get better, and this book is my way of helping others stay focused on their goals.”
Her message is clear: success isn’t just for the few; it’s achievable for anyone willing to dream, plan, and act.
“I’m encouraging everyone to pursue their dreams. Nothing is impossible. Writing it down is the first step.”
