The Grace Factory volunteers dedicated their Saturday to spreading a wave of kindness that will bring comfort and dignity to 400 new mothers and their little ones.

Vaal, South Africa (10 November 2025) – The Grace Factory started the new month on a high note and with their hands full!

Saturday, 1 November, saw a crowd of volunteers packing 200 newborn maternity packs in Vaal in honour of World Prematurity Day, celebrated in November. The Hillcrest KZN branch also got busy, packing 200 more maternity packs that same day. That’s a total of 400 mothers and babies who will receive maternity packs filled with essentials and love!

World Prematurity Day, observed on the 17th, is a global preterm birth awareness initiative that the team holds dear and a reminder of just how precious and strong tiny babies are.

The incredible team of Vaal volunteers was also joined by the wonderful teachers from Vaalpark Primary School / Vaalpark Primêre Skool, who gave their time and hearts to make this day even more meaningful.

“We also packed in loving memory of our dear volunteer, Karin, whose kindness and dedication will always continue to inspire us,” The Grace Factory said.

Becoming a new mom is a significant life change. For many, this new chapter brings the added challenge of struggling to provide for themselves, let alone the new little one they’ve welcomed into the world. The Grace Factory is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing moms and newborns in need with essential baby items, ensuring no vulnerable mother goes without support during her baby’s first few weeks.

The charity expressed its gratitude to all who showed up to support their mission, which directly provides comfort and dignity to some of the most vulnerable little ones and their mothers as they navigate a significant life transition.

“A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer, partner, sponsor, donor, and friend who contributes to our NPO. We can only do what we do because of the generous people who stand with us.”
