War Child

Brandi Carlile enlisted a group of musicians to cover her 2007 album ‘The Story’, the proceeds of which are going to the War Child Organisation

 

Brandi Carlile was inspired by Adele covering her song ‘Hiding My Heart’ on a bonus album for 21. It all started in January when Carlile reached out on Social Media for fans to help her get Adele’s attention about the project. ‘The Story’ album is being covered by a variety of famous names to help raise funds for the War Child organisation.

“Will you join our efforts? Her stunning version of “Hiding My Heart” serves as the original inspiration for our project to benefit War Child. We believe that her beautiful voice can help us complete The Story project and start helping kids in need.”

War Child is an organisation that raises money to help aid children in war torn countries. 84% of money donated to this organization goes to changing these children’s lives forever. ‘The Story’ project is also featuring the stories of some of the children from around the world.

The album will feature artists such as Dolly Parton, Pearl Jam, Adele and many more! An audio of Dolly Partons cover version of The Story has been released and its beautiful! The album is set to be a huge success and the money raised will change the lives of many young souls.

“This is a David and Goliath story, since becoming a mother, the reality of a child’s beautiful life being torn apart by war felt like too big of a problem for me. So I asked my heroes and friends to help me launch a rock at the giant that is our refugee crisis and help in the only way we know how: through the power of music.” – Brandi Carlile
