Shaping the builders and construction pioneers of tomorrow, Primestars’ Careers for Tomorrow’s Impact project is changing the way young people approach their future careers. By providing essential career guidance and training, the project is helping to bridge the gap between marginalised communities and exciting job opportunities in the building environment.
Johannesburg, South Africa (13 November 2024) – The Careers for Tomorrow’s Impact project by Primestars is helping young people take the first step toward a rewarding career in the construction industry.
More than just a career guidance project, it aims to transform lives by opening the youth’s eyes to skills in demand in the job market and equipping them with the information and skills they need to make informed career decisions.
With the belief that every young person deserves a chance to build a successful future, Primestars, a provider of youth development programmes, in partnership with the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), is providing marginalised youth with the information and training they need to pursue exciting career paths.
“We’re focused on bridging the gap for marginalised communities by creating a career pipeline that connects passionate job seekers to real opportunities in the built environment.”
“This transformative initiative is designed to empower high school learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12 targeted at under-resourced communities across the country offering them the guidance and motivation to pursue career paths in construction and the built environment,” Primestars shares.
The emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines will be the key feature of this programme.
Through a combination of online resources and in-person workshops, young learners are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue careers in engineering, plumbing, bricklaying, and more.
Because dreams never rest, the programme also includes a user-friendly career portal availing career information at the learners’ fingertips anywhere they may be, 24/7 and 365 days a year.
