15000 people applied to join Riaan Manser on an epic row from the Canary Islands to Barbados this December, and a young man from Soweto was selected to join him.

Johannesburg, South Africa – In this day & age of the 21st century one would think that all credible world first explorations have been done… but they haven’t.

Over the past decade, Riaan Manser has re-written the definition of tenacity & become the epitome of courage & determination.

Riaan rose to prominence on becoming the first person to cycle around the perimeter of Africa and had gone on to the wildest expositions from circumnavigating Madagascar to kayaking from Africa to New York.

And now he has just completed a new adventure: The Odyssey Row!

Fanafikile “Fana” Lehakha was chosen from 15000 people who applied to join Riaan on an epic journey across an entire ocean. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the explorer on a row across the Atlantic.

Riaan joins Brent Lindeque in studio to talk about all his awesome expeditions.
