SOS Africa celebrated a momentous achievement: the successful matriculation of its first cohort of sponsored students from the Western Cape.

Western Cape, South Africa (16 January 2025) – As the country celebrated its class of 2024 matriculants’ impressive academic achievements this week, so too did SOS Africa as it applauded its first-ever sponsored matric students from the Western Cape.

All six students passed their exams with flying colours, securing their National Senior Certificates, which will not only help them pursue their tertiary education but also provide the gateway to promising and successful futures.

Dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in South Africa’s disadvantaged communities, SOS Africa funds the education and care of children in need to help them break out of poverty.

Laytham, Kim, Quentin, Tashnee, Camilyn, and Kay-Leigh received support from SOS Africa, which provided holistic education sponsorship and allowed them to access good schooling.

SOS Africa expressed immense pride in their students’ accomplishments, recognising their resilience and inspiring future generations within the educational support programme.

“Having walked the journey with each of these inspirational students, we know about the many challenges they have each overcome to reach this incredible milestone.

“We are so proud of them and know that their achievements will motivate the next group of SOS matric students,” SOS Africa congratulated.
